Terms of Service

Store Pickup by Genie Apps — Last updated August 25, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the “Store Pickup by Genie Apps” application (“App”), operated by Genie Apps (“we”, “us”, or “our”). The App includes an optional Google Calendar integration. By installing or using the App through the Shopify App Store, or by connecting Google Calendar, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App, and do not connect Google Calendar.

1. Description of Service

The App enables Shopify merchants to offer in-store and curbside pickup to their customers, including features such as:

Date & Time Picker

Customers can schedule a pickup date and time at checkout, with configurable availability windows per store location.

Multiple Locations

Merchants can manage unlimited store locations, each with its own pickup schedule, order limits per time slot, and daily capacity settings.

Order Management

Pickup orders are tagged and surfaced in the Shopify admin so merchants can efficiently manage fulfilment from each location.

Theme Integration

The App injects the necessary code into your active Shopify theme to display the pickup widget on your storefront.

Google Calendar Integration

Merchants may optionally connect a Google account from Settings → Integrations. The App then creates pickup and delivery appointment events on that account's primary Google Calendar. When connected, the App may also email customers a calendar invite (.ics) and an Add to Google Calendar link.

2. Eligibility

You must have an active Shopify store and agree to the Shopify Terms of Service to use this App. By accepting these Terms you represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract and are not prohibited from using the App under applicable law.

3. Account & Access

Access to the App is granted through your Shopify account credentials. If you connect Google Calendar, you also authorize the App to use the Google account you select. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Shopify account and that Google account, and for all activities that occur under them. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your accounts.

4. Permitted Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.
  • Use the App to transmit any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks connected to the App.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App without our prior written consent.

5. Data & Privacy

The App accesses certain data from your Shopify store (orders, products, themes, shop information, and customer geolocation) solely to provide the pickup and delivery functionality described above. If you connect Google Calendar, the App also accesses Google user data only as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We use Google user data solely to provide or improve user-facing features of the App. We do not use Google user data for advertising, selling to data brokers, or training non-personalized AI or ML models.

6. Google Calendar Integration

Connecting Google Calendar is optional and is not required to use Store Pickup. You connect from Settings → Integrations in the App. By clicking Connect and completing Google's consent screen, you authorize the App to use the Google account you select.

What we request and do

We request only the Google OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events. The App creates pickup and delivery appointment events on the primary Google Calendar of the connected account (HTTPS POST to Google's Calendar API). We do not list, read, update, or delete existing events, add attendees through the Google Calendar API, or request Gmail, contacts, Drive, or full calendar access.

Event title, date/time, location, and description are built from Shopify order details (order number, customer name, email, phone, address or pickup location, order total, and line items) so your team can fulfill the appointment.

When Google Calendar is connected, we may also email the customer a calendar invite (.ics file) and an “Add to Google Calendar” link. That email uses Shopify order and customer details. It does not use your Google OAuth tokens and does not access the customer's Google account.

How we store Google credentials

After you connect, we store your Google access token, refresh token, and token expiry time on your shop settings record, encrypted at rest. Communication with Google APIs uses HTTPS/TLS. If the access token expires, the App refreshes it so event creation can continue. We do not store copies of calendar events or Google event IDs after they are created in your Google Calendar.

Limited Use

Store Pickup by Genie Apps' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use of information received from Google Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google Workspace User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not retain user data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train non-personalized AI and/or ML models.

Disconnect, revoke, and uninstall

You may disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting disables the integration and deletes the stored Google access token, refresh token, and token expiry data. You may also revoke access from your Google Account permissions page. Uninstalling the App from Shopify deletes the shop record and associated Google credentials. Events already created in your Google Calendar remain in your Google account until you delete them there.

Your Google account

You are responsible for the Google account you connect and for complying with Google's Terms of Service and the Google APIs Terms of Service. We do not guarantee that every order will create a calendar event (for example, if your Google authorization expires, is revoked, a date/time cannot be parsed, or Google's API is unavailable).

7. Fees & Payment

The App is currently available free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans or modify pricing in the future. Any pricing changes will be communicated in advance through the Shopify App Store listing and/or by email. Continued use of the App after a pricing change constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in and to the App, including its code, design, and content, are owned by or licensed to Genie Apps. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in or to the App beyond the limited licence to use it as described herein.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that Google Calendar events will always be created for every order. Google Calendar is provided by Google; we are not responsible for Google's services, outages, or how Google processes data in your Google account.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Genie Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using Google Calendar at any time by disconnecting it in the App, or stop using the App by uninstalling it from your Shopify store. Disconnecting or uninstalling deletes Google OAuth credentials we store for your shop. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, including if how we use Google user data changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
