Complete the setup guide

Last updated: September 14, 2026

Walk through the 4-step setup guide that appears after installing the app: staff, location, service, and the storefront widget.

The first time you open the app, Home shows Setup guide instead of the Dashboard. It takes about 5 minutes. You must complete all four steps, then click Finish setup, before the rest of the app navigation unlocks.

Customers cannot book until you add staff, a location, a service, enable the widget on your published theme, and click Finish setup.

Step 1 — Add your team

Bookings cannot be created without at least one staff member.

1

On the Setup guide, expand "Add your team" and click "Add a team member".

2

Enter first name, last name, and email (required). You can also add a phone number, photo, and bio.

3

Save the staff member. The step is checked when at least one staff record exists.

Step 2 — Add a location

Locations are where appointments happen.

4

Expand "Add a location" and click "Add a location".

5

Enter a name, email, address line 1, city, ZIP / postal code, and country (required).

6

Save the location. The step is checked when at least one location exists.

Step 3 — Create your first service

A service is what customers actually book. Creating one also creates a Shopify product for that service.

7

Expand "Create your first service" and click "Create a service".

8

Choose a template. For most stores, start with Regular / Basic Booking (date and time slot).

9

Fill in the service details, assign staff and a location, then save. The step is checked when at least one service exists.

You can add more services later from Services in the app sidebar, after setup is finished.

Step 4 — Activate the storefront widget

The booking widget is a Shopify App Embed. It must be turned on in your published theme.

10

Expand "Activate the storefront widget" and click "Open theme editor".

11

In the Theme Editor, open App embeds and turn on "Booking widget".

12

Click Save in the Theme Editor.

13

Return to the app and click "Verify". The app checks that the widget is enabled on your published theme.

If Verify says the widget is not enabled, make sure you saved the live (published) theme, not only a draft or unpublished theme.

Finish setup

14

When all four steps are checked, click "Finish setup". Home becomes the Dashboard, and Bookings, Locations, Staff, Services, and Settings appear in the sidebar.

You can still open the theme editor later from Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds.
